Friday Favourites

Here is a selection of my favourite things this week!

Talking Moustache Keyring
All I can say is that this is hilarious! We got these in the shop the other day so I bought a couple only to find some in my stocking! My mum knows me too well haha!

Lego Storage Head
We have a couple of these in my house and they are amazing! They look great on their own and we store all my little sisters lego in it! I want one to keep my make up in!

Marmite Egg Cup Set
These are just too cute! I love marmite so much and the design of these egg cups is so sweet :)

Friends Box set
Up until last month I'd never watched Friends. I know you must be thinking how is that possible but I always thought that as I'd not seen the beginning of it I wouldn't be able to get into it. I found the box set in the HMV sale for £50 and my step dad really kindly agreed to go halves with me as he loves Friends too. I've been hooked since! I just can't stop laughing when I watch it and don't know how I went so long in life without it! My favourite bit so far has to be seeing them watch the video of Rachel and Monica's prom - Ross and the moustache!!!!

Waxing Poetic Wish Tonic Bottle Charm
I'm looking into investing in this charm it's just so adorable! I have become a bit obsessed with Waxing Poetic recently and would love to get one of their antique style chains and this charm. Their jewellery is really distinctive, I have a waxed cord bracelet by them with a brass and silver bird charm on it and I never take it off!

I hope everyone has a good New Year!

Merry Christmas!

Hello! I hope everyone had a good Christmas and enjoyed spending time with their families!
I had a really lovely time with my family and friends. My mums legendary Christmas roast which included a quorn roast for me, champagne drinking in the morning and lots of laughter! Also how amazing was Ab Fab?!?!
Father Christmas did an amazing job with my stocking!

It was a dinosaur and moustache theme!!! I got moustache clips, a dinosaur comb, shower cap, top trumps, cookie cutters, stickers I was so excited by it!
I was so lucky to get a sewing machine and new wallet this year. I can finally take up my clothes without having to go out with safety pins in them! And fix my coat lining I've ripped!
I was also so happy to be given this beautiful Alex Monroe Bumblebee Necklace.

I was so surprised and overwhelmed to get given this I'd wanted the necklace for ages but never thought I'd ever be able to afford it. Alex Monroe is a British jewellery designer who does stunning pieces inspired by nature. The necklace is beautifully detailed with the bumblebee even having legs underneath!
I am so happy the shop I work in was closed today! I've worked in retail since I was 16 and have had to work all the crazy hours over Christmas before so it was lovely to have Boxing day off. I did go out with my mum to check the sales and everyone that had to work today has my full sympathy! It is amazing to not be spending Boxing day picking sale clothes off the floor or having 10 people at once asking me to get them sale shoes!
I did use my Christmas money to treat myself to a phone case today, I'd been desperate for one for ages but I'm so particular and didn't want to just get a plain black case or a really bright one. I finally found this lovely Cath Kidston Phone Case and fell in love with the bird on it!

Anyway I hope everyone continues to have a lovely time with friends and family and enjoys their time off work!

Cosy Christmas

Dickie Cosy Christmas
Hello! I hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas Eve! My work was crazy today with last minute Christmas shoppers and our tills not working so I'm exhausted and cannot wait for a lie in! This winter I have been living in jumpers and chunky knit cardigans as I always seem to be freezing cold! I got this jumper off ebay and I love it so much, I love the jewels and it's so soft. Once I put it on I feel really confident and glamorous, it has definitely become my new favourite jumper!

Chanel Button Necklace - Ebay

T-shirt - Urban Outfitters
Skirt - American Apparel

This is my other winter knit, I am obsessed with Christmas knits and this one definitely has a Christmassy feel to it! It's not a novelty Christmas knit so it can be worn just when it's cold instead of a seasonal thing, and I love the fake fur on it. At £65 it was an investment piece but I figured I could wear it instead of a coat when it warms up making it work out better coat per wear (my justification for it haha).
Anyway I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and enjoys spending time with their families!

Rainbow Polka Dot Nails!

Hello! I thought I'd do a post on how I do my nails as I get asked each day. People think it takes hours to do but I can normally get it done in 15 minutes, and it's so simple to do! I've been doing them like this for a year and a half, occasionally changing them to leopard print or some other pattern but this is my all time favourite!
First of all here are all the bits I use
Dickie's Rainbow Polka Dot Nails
From left to right - Models Own Nail Art Pen White, Models Own 3 in 1 Base Coat/Top Coat & Gloss, Barry M Nail Paint in 272 Shocking Pink, Models Own Nail Polish in Fuzzy Peach, Barry M Nail Paint in 134, Models Own Nail Polish in Lime Green, and Models Own Nail Polish in Feeling Blue.
I start off with clean nails. My middle nail does look a bit gross as it's stained from the yellow nail varnish!
Dickie's Rainbow Polka Dot Nails
I then apply a layer of the Models Own 3 in 1 Base Coat/Top Coat & Gloss. I've tried so many bases and top coats and have found this one to be the best.
Dickie's Rainbow Polka Dot Nails
I then apply the first layer of each coloured nail polish. I do the colours in spectrum order and on my right hand start with pink on my thumb, on my left hand I start with blue on my thumb. Please excuse the green bit of nail polish I managed to accidentally smudge it on my hand!

I then apply a second layer of the coloured nail polish to make the colour more intense.

Now for the fun part! I use the Models Own Nail Art Pen to blob dots in a pattern all over each nail! I normally start off with one on the top of the nail, in the middle, then do two either side a bit lower down, then another one in the centre lower down, and spread the pattern out so it's all uniform (I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my nails!)
Dickie's Rainbow Polka Dot Nails
Finally I apply the Models Own 3 in 1 Base Coat/Top Coat & Gloss to seal the design in! As I've mentioned I've found this to be the best base and top coat so far, I normally go a week and half now between doing my nails. And here is the finished result! You can then clean up the edges with a cotton bud soaked in nail polish remover.

So that's how I do my nails! If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do another guide soon with how I do my leopard print nails!

Mustard Shorts

Hello everyone!
As you've probably I'm a bit in love with the mustard colour that is really in fashion at the moment! At first I was concerned it would clash with my hair but fortunately it seems to compliment it. I picked up these shorts in the sale at Urban Outfitters for £15 which was a bargain! I always try and wait until stuff is in the sale with Urban Outfitters or they're doing a promotional day as it can be a bit out of budget in there.
I finally got round to wrapping my Christmas presents today in my usual appalling way! It's an ongoing joke how awful my wrapping is I just try and stick the paper on to the item haha! At least the Christmas shopping is done and out the way so I don't have the stress of facing the crowds of manic shoppers! Although working in retail means I have them all begging me for help picking for other people!

I'm back!

Hello everyone!
First of all I'd just like to say I'm so sorry about not updating my blog in forever - first of all had my mac away for 10 days being repaired, then was away for a week for my graduation, then my mac was away again being repaired and when I finally got it back fixed I was just really out of practice! I now have a plan of action to keep this up to date (basically getting my little sister to take pictures of me in 4 different outfits on my day off so it can all be done in one go! after work I never want my picture taken!)
I'm unbelievably excited about Christmas at the moment, it's my favourite time of year and an excuse to wear my multiple Christmas jumpers! I've attached bells to some of them so it jingles when I move haha!
Anyway I'd like to show off my new favourite shirt

I fell in love with this Minkpink shirt as soon as I saw it on ASOS. I'm obsessed with sheer shirts at the moment, and that vintage style print but at £50 I just couldn't justify it. Then ASOS started offering 20% off brands taking it down to £40, and then an extra 10% off taking it down to £36 and I couldn't say no! I've worn this shirt so much since I've got it and it gets so many compliments!
The shirt has since sold out on ASOS but is still available from Urban Outfitters.

Shirt - Minkpink
Cardigan - Topshop
Chanel Button Necklace - Ebay
Compass Necklace - Urban Outfitters
Rabbit Ring - Bjorg
Owl Ring - Accessorize
Blue Gem and Gold Band Rings - Vintage

Anyway I hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas and has a wonderful day with their families on Sunday!

PS I am looking into getting a proper camera and tripod so I can get some in focus pictures!
